Importance Of The Mother
Love And Respect Your Mother
Mother is the Doctor and Nurse, all rolled into one. If it's a fever, a crying baby that won't be quieted, a cut, a broken tooth - doesn't matter. She knows how to fix it! A Mother needs only kiss the 'bad boo-boo' and the child instantly is calmed of all fears. After all, Mother knows best! She's the time keeper. After all, children don't watch the clock; they listen to Mom. She knows when the bus runs for school, the time for practice for the games, the piano lesson, the school play. Whatever has a time attached, be assured that Mother has the TIME written down in her time-clock, the head! If not, she surely has a paper attached to her refrigerator, the bathroom mirror, her purse, the car steering wheel, or some place she's bound to see it, or be able to find in case of a lapse in memory!
Although overworked and underpaid, Mother doesn't complain. She would work her fingers to the bone for her children. She'd come to their rescue, no matter what the cause. These are, after all, her God-given 'talents' to take and use for the glory of God. HE expects Mother to raise and nuture her 'charges' to become the best they can be in this world, and equip them for what is needed to get to the other side!New mothers should stay home with their babies for as long as practical. Your baby will never be this age again.
For some, depression strikes shortly after birth. For others, depression develops when the baby is three to six months old. A mother may tell you that she is not sleeping well, that she feels hopeless, that nothing will ever be "normal" again. Depression can influence how a woman relates to her baby, even whether she is able to breastfeed.Fatigue and sleep deprivation are common. Sleep deprivation is a fact of life for new mothers. Perhaps because it is so common, its influence on a mother's emotional state is often overlooked. Several mothers in the Group, not hearing the desperation in her voice, told her how their children were still not sleeping through the night.
A mother sometimes decides to wean because she is so fatigued. When working with a new mother, it is important to take fatigue seriously. This might include helping her develop strategies for getting more rest, for example, taking baby into bed with her; encouraging her to be screened for physical problems such as hypothyroidism, anemia or allergies; suggesting ways to modify her diet.
Another factor related to postpartum depression is the effect of infant illness, prematurity or disability on a mother's emotional state. Infant illness has been directly linked to postpartum depression; the higher the risk for the infant, the greater the depression in the mother. Again, a mother may feel she has no control and is powerless to help her baby; she may feel others are more qualified. She may also be extremely anxious about her infant and experience anticipatory grieving.Close persons can help a mother work toward resolving her feelings and feel an attachment to her infant. The mother can do something for her baby that no one else can. Chances are she will need to hear that.
A woman's family of origin can either be a significant source of support or a source of frustration and discouragement. If she was raised in an abusive, alcoholic or otherwise dysfunctional home, she may be concerned about her ability to raise her own children. She may long to turn to her own mother for help.In at least one of these cultures, well-wishers give presents to the mother and a special "stepping out" ceremony takes place within a few weeks of her giving birth.
Value Of Mother
A Mother's job is to watch over, nourish, and protect maternally.Mother ear is fine-tuned to hear the slightest turn of a baby in the bed, a light whimper, and immediately she's out of that bed, and straight to the baby's crib! She is the chief diaper-changer: Surely a wet diaper, or, heaven forbid - one with poop. She's the taxi, bus driver, chauffeur - whatever it takes to get the child where ever they need to go.
She's a counselor for the teens. She's also the CONSOLER. She listens while they tell her that 'nobody loves me', 'my boyfriend dumped me', and, 'my fiancee loves someone else'.She's the referee in every dispute. She is the light at the end of the tunnel, in the wake of a storm!
